Veritao is a family enterprise, started 25 years ago by our founder Arun Taploo. Our expertise resides in manufacturing and distributing raw ingredients for skincare, and personal care. We take great pride in our history of delivering new innovations to product efficacy and sustainability across North America.
Our expansion into skincare is a natural fit - our skillset translates well to creating the best skincare formulations, we know what ingredients best balance efficacy and sustainability.
That said, skincare is a saturated space with many great products. We exist not to perpetuate the status quo, but to serve to key purposes that will bring new value to the space:
1. We aim to change perspectives on the purpose of skincare. We believe skincare is more than just a functional routine to achieve a certain aesthetic. It is a clandestine retreat to practice mindfulness and reconnect with ourselves in our busy world. This brand has been built around finding a sense of grounding and calm in your morning and evening through a mindful, nourishing skincare practice. Our products are formulated and designed with this philosophy in mind, using the highest quality, natural ingredients to nourish the skin and senses. We not only embody this belief through our formulations and design, but also through the narratives we explore through our artwork and film. Simply put, if the façade of our product could serve as a daily visual reminder for some to slow down and find retreat in this simple, beautiful practice – that would be success.
2. We aim to change the design of personal care products. We believe there is a better alternative to the current single-use plastics heavy model, one where products are designed to live well in your space, more akin to a beautiful ceramic than a plastic bottle. We have crafted our bottles with a thoughtful minimalism, with artwork that enhances the ambiance of your space and serves as a gentle visual reminder to slow down and engage mindfully with your skincare process. This beauty is meant to promote the reuse of the bottle. Our fully compostable refills, a first-of-its-kind technology in North America, make it easy to reuse the bottles without creating unnecessary waste. Ultimately, we envision a future where its easy to buy products that are beautiful, sustainable, and effective, products that we genuinely want to keep and reuse out of a desire rather than a climate guilt.
Sustainability is core to our design
As we launch our brand, we are excited to introduce a pioneering compostable refill program to North America. However, our goals go beyond this. As we continue to grow, we will strive to not only improve our packaging and ingredient sourcing, but also partner with retailers to stock our products locally and minimize our shipping carbon footprint.
Ultimately, our goal is not just to differentiate ourselves as a sustainable brand, but to inspire other brands to prioritize sustainability in their product design and formulation. We envision an immediate future where the concept of buying and refilling in a sustainable manner becomes the norm, rather than a unique selling point.
It’s no secret that our financial incentives don’t always align with sustainable practices. We could make more money by mass-producing and heavily marketing more and more products, but we are willing to prioritize building a community of like-minded individuals who share our commitment to sustainability. Although we may not yet have a lengthy track record, we look forward to earning your trust over time through our actions. We believe whole heartedly this approach is more important than simple focusing on maximizing profits.

What you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your body. That’s why we formulate with potent yet gentle ingredients – delivering healthy, vibrant skin without compromising your health or the environment.
We are committed to transparency and honesty in all aspects of our business, including our formulations. That’s why we never use any of the 1,600+ substances restricted by the EU Cosmetics Regulation Guidelines, including parabens and sulfates. We use a carefully curated selection of plant-based ingredients that are effective, nourishing, and gentle on the skin. We source our ingredients from ethical and sustainable sources and are constantly searching for innovative ingredients and sustainable sourcing methods that meet our high standards.
